Workshop and poetry reading in celebration of the new Washington Writers’ Publishing House anthology, Capital Love. Kim leads a short generative workshop on One-Sentence Poems. So much can happen in a single sentence! This class will take a close look a free verse poems written as a single sentence, paying attention to such formal elements as pacing and line breaks. Participants will leave with a draft of a new poem. Followed by readings from the anthology by Alex Carrigan, Charlotte Van Schaack, Kaetochi Nwodo, Jupiter Berrysmith, Victoria Sosa, Zoe Leonard, and Isaac Cameron Tollefson. Hosted by Jona Colson and Caroline Bock. Refreshments and books available. Free admission; pre-registration required.
